US-Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
Methicillin-resistente Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
haben sich in den USA außerhalb von Kliniken
etabliert. Die Rate der „community acquired“
oder CA-MRSA an allen Staph. aureus-Isolaten liegt
nach einer Studie im New England Journal of Medicine
(NEJM 2005; 352: 1436-1444) in den USA bei acht bis
